The Health Benefits of Movement & Yoga

Bodies love movement. They are, by nature designed to move - and yet the average person only uses a tiny fraction of that potential range in daily life.
It’s easy to see why. The demands of our jobs can mean long hours sitting or working at a desk. Even more physical jobs or active lifestyles can perhaps restrict our bodies potential for movement, often making us perform the same repetitive actions. Combine this with poor posture and more sedentary evening activities and we can end up feeling stiff, tight and ‘stuck’.

Practicing Yoga & movement regularly, either in a group or privately will help. But what we practice and how is really important.
Even a Yoga practice can compound restrictions and stiffness in the body if we don’t pay attention. By contrast, if we just keep doing the same movements, making the same shapes over and over we potentially continue to repeat our same restricted patterns...and nothing changes!
Moving with purpose and clear, calm attention can bring incredible results and we can continue to be surprised and inspired by what our bodies can do 😊
